When penultimate week the press became awash of the decision of the former senate president Ken Nnamani to quit the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, many minds were agitated. Among the litany of questions that cried for sincere answers were: what else could have happened aside the humiliating defeat suffered by PDP at the polls that warranted a man of his status to leave, particularly after a very long time since the fall of the party?, does it mean that PDP has suddenly become irredeemable? And then, why did this great man choose to momentarily quit partisan politics? This list arguably was inexhaustible. This was made more intriguing when he stated that

If the reports by the DailyGlobeWatch is anything to go by, then the marriage between Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and his wife, Lara Oshiomhole is heading for the rocks as the latter is reportedly seeking for a divorce.

Bomb Blast Rocks Chibok Community

According to a BBC Hausa service report, three bombs have exploded in north-eastern Nigeria's Chibok town, targeting three different places. The first bomb went off at a weekly market while another detonated at a security checkpoint. It is unclear whether the third bomb exploded.

Reports say the attacks were carried out by suicides bombers which has left 10 people dead and many wounded.

Militant Islamist group, Boko Haram raided the same town in April 2014, and abducted more than 200 girls who are yet to be released.

Court Annuls Impeachment of Enugu Deputy Governor

An Enugu State High Court has annulled the impeachment of His Excellency, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi as the Deputy Governor of Enugu State.

The court, which lambasted the members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, said their actions were in gross violation of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.

DAILY POST reports that the Court, presided over by Justice R.O Odugu, equally set aside the swearing in of new Deputy Governor after Onyebuchi was unlawfully removed.

Onyebuchi, who was in court with his wife said “I have forgiven those who were part of this justice”.

He jokingly added “I can now resume my chicken rearing”.

Mr. Dogara has done us a great favour. His inadvertent revelations (at least that is what it is for those who did not know hitherto) underscored the fact that the “North”, spearheaded by the Sultanate, has realigned to be able to continue to dominate the rest of Nigeria, which is considered their inheritance bequeathed by Uthman Dan Fodio. The “North" as it were now has the President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senate Leader and House Majority Leader. They also have the Chief Justice, Head of Federal Civil Service, Accountant General of the Federation, Director Department of Petroleum Resources, and very soon the Ministers of Defence, Petroleum, Industries and Finance would follow.

Mr. Yakubu Dogara, the new Speaker of the House of Representatives, recently told the world an open secret – that the ongoing crisis in the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a result of the “New thinking in the North” aimed at appropriating total control of power to the exclusion of the rest or other sections of the country. Nigeria Threatens Retaliation on MTN over South Africa's Blockade of Arms Deal

Nigeria on Wednesday has accused South Africa of blocking a legal arms purchase and threatened retaliation against major South African companies, including telecom giant MTN Nigeria, if the row is not resolved.

A top official in the office of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser told Agence France-Presse that the country had an agreement to buy $5.7 million worth of military hardware in a deal brokered by a South African firm.

Port Harcourt Records Ebola death. Over 70 Under Surveillance

The Federal Government, Thursday, confirmed that the doctor that died in a hospital in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, died of the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD.

The Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, told journalists in Abuja on Thursday that the doctor contacted the disease after treating a patient who came in contact with Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American who brought Ebola to Nigeria.

***JUST IN*** Enugu Deputy Gov, Onyebuchi, Impeached!

The Enugu State House of Assembly has removed the state’s Deputy Governor, Sunday Onyebuchi, from office.

The Assembly voted Tuesday morning to sack Mr. Onyebuchi from office.

Details of the impeachment session is still sketchy but the deputy governor’s removal is believed to have been masterminded by Governor Sullivan Chime.
