The Horrors of Being Single in Nigeria

By Tochi Eze
It’s a typical Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere is almost tangibly boring. Naturally, I’m in the middle of an activity and by activity I mean my eyes were glued to my lap top’s screen, watching old movies. Then my phone rings, a blatant interruption of my perfectly scheduled movie time. I plaster a frown on my face and dig it up from under my pillow. I see the caller I.D and it is one of my aunties. My frown burrows deeper. She only calls when there is a wedding or a funeral.

Othman Dan Fodio is Not Done With Nigeria Yet....

I came across this powerful piece on facebook by an insight provider and business consultant, Ogbo Awoke Ogbo, and decided to share it on this blog since it's in line with my thoughts on the Northern/Hausa-fulani conquest of Nigeria.

Armed Fulani herdsmen
Othman Dan Fodio is not done with Nigeria yet - that 's the crux of the whole matter!

By Ogbo Awoke Ogbo

Nigeria is not dealing with religion. Nigeria is not with dealing terrorism. Nigeria is not dealing with ethnic suspicion and tribal hatred - we really don't have issues with each other on personal levels (of my top five friends on earth, two are Yoruba, one Tiv, one Efik, one Igbo. And many of you don't know but I have Yoruba in-laws, nieces and nephews. So, don’t get these things twisted, if I must borrow the expiring slang of Nigerian teenagers).

Ken Nnamani, PDP And Politics Of Consistent Inconsistency

By Fred Idoko

Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani

When penultimate week the press became awash of the decision of the former senate president Ken Nnamani to quit the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, many minds were agitated. Among the litany of questions that cried for sincere answers were: what else could have happened aside the humiliating defeat suffered by PDP at the polls that warranted a man of his status to leave, particularly after a very long time since the fall of the party?, does it mean that PDP has suddenly become irredeemable? And then, why did this great man choose to momentarily quit partisan politics? This list arguably was inexhaustible. This was made more intriguing when he stated that

An Enugu State High Court has annulled the impeachment of His Excellency, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi as the Deputy Governor of Enugu State.
Sunday Onyebuchi
Ex-Enugu Deputy Gov. Onyebuchi
The court, which lambasted the members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, said their actions were in gross violation of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.
DAILY POST reports that the Court, presided over by Justice R.O Odugu, equally set aside the swearing in of new Deputy Governor after Onyebuchi was unlawfully removed.
Onyebuchi, who was in court with his wife said “I have forgiven those who were part of this justice”.
He jokingly added “I can now resume my chicken rearing”.

Why Biafra Nation May Emerge Soon

“This new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Othman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the north as willing tools and the south as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future.”
                                          – Sir Ahmadu Bello (Parrot Newspaper October 12, 1960).

These were the words of a supposedly nationalist; leader of the Northern Nigeria and Sarduna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, just 12 days after Nigeria gained her independence from the British colonial lords.

Does this sound like a country that truly wants to be ‘One’? I don't think so.

In August 2014, when I wrote an article about Ebola being an American bioweapon in Nigeria, some people, who thought that America has the interest of Africans in heart, harangued me and urged me to use my time for ‘meaningful write-ups,’ (Laughs).

However I was glad  many others equally shared my thoughts on the possibility of Patrick Sawyer being covertly used as a bioterrorist in Nigeria by the American government.
