...Pledges Support for Obi
...Condemns Enugu NDC for Imposition of Candidates
Nnamani, a hardcore Obidient, berated the way and manner some APC moles, opportunists, and money bags infiltrated the Enugu State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the last few weeks hijacking the party structure and imposing candidates who were neither Obidients nor believe in Mr. Peter Obi's philosophy.
Nnamani revealed that, unbeknownst to many, he "quietly" left the NDC and joined the PRP when he noticed the handwriting on the wall shortly after he joined the NDC with his principal, Mr. Peter Obi, in early May, stressing that most fellow aspirants, unfortunately, were not so lucky as they fell victim To these high-powered manipulations in NDC.
Nnamani noted that these APC moles are in two categories: the first are those sponsored by the ruling party to cause disaffection within the party, while the second are "expired" politicians who want to leverage on the Obidient wave to secure positions for themselves as they know that no normal human being will vote for the APC in the coming election.
Asked if it does not amount to an anti-party activity leaving his own party's Presidential candidate, Mr. Donald Duke, to work for Mr. Peter Obi, Nnamani responded: "All politics are local and if you are sensitive to your people as a leader, you have to listen to their heart beats." Warning that one of the tragedies of bad leadership is underrating the power of the people you preside over. Nnamani recalled that in Chinua Achebe's Arrow of God, the protagonist and Chief Priest of Ulu, Ezeulu, underrated the power of his people and paid dearly with his life.
Nnamani believes that Enugu people are all Obidients and want Mr. Peter Obi to be their President; therefore, working against him will amount to swimming against the tide.
Asked if not running under the NDC will jeopardize his chances in 2027, he replied: "I don't think so. Most Obidients have vowed not to vote from 'Top-to-Bottom' again in 2027 after their bitter experience of seeing those they voted for in Labour Party in 2023 decamping to APC and abandoning Mr. Peter Obi and the movement.
"Although this decision is not from the national leadership," Nnamani quipped, "but, as stated earlier, all politics are local and the people know what is best suited for them."
