...Declares Support for Obi
...Bemoans Tinubu, Mbah's administration
In a move seen as strategizing ahead of the 2027 general election, a foremost writer and public affairs analyst, Chike Nnamani, on Thursday 22nd January, joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State, revealing that the current State of the Nation and widespread hunger among the citizens necessitated his move into the coalition party.
Nnamani, who served as a Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) in the 9th National Assembly, decried the level of hunger, poverty, and corruption in the country stressing that the inimical policies of President Tinubu have deepened the poverty and unemployment across the country while enriching only the few.
Speaking shortly after registering in his Ward in Enugu, Nnamani said that, though he was not a politician, the trajectory the country was moving under the APC leadership was too dangerous to be silent and that well-meaning Nigerians should join hands in salvaging the country by retiring all the APC government at all levels.
Decrying the level of insecurity, crime, and corruption, Nnamani stressed that it is no longer a secret that the only lucrative businesses available in the country are kidnapping, internet fraud, and stealing of public funds - which are clear indicators of a failed State.
On Governor Peter Mbah's administration, Nnamani observed that the Owo-born politician is preoccupied with elitist projects alone - which are of no benefit to the common man on the streets of Enugu whose major need is: "Give us this day, our daily bread." He warned that the taxation policies of Mbah and Tinubu's administrations risk throwing the country into a revolution recalling that the French Revolution of 1789 was partly caused by the French taxation scheme which was highly regressive.
Nnamani inferred that it is guile and skulduggery for the government to always reference the UK and US taxation system without referencing their economy and the welfare packages they have for their citizens as well.
On his preferred candidate for the 2027 Presidency, Nnamani insisted that the antecedents of the top three contenders show that Peter Obi is the best among them. According to him, "Peter Obi may not be perfect, but he is the best among the tripartite contenders. He may not have the magic wand to totally transform Nigeria in four years - as Nigeria's problem is purely foundational - but he sure would outperform the duo of Atiku and Tinubu."
Asked if he would contest any elective position in 2027, Nnamani responded: "It is too early to speculate. My utmost priority now is to mobilize as many Nigerians as possible to sack the APC leadership at all levels." However, he reiterated that "governance and legislative duties must not be left in the hands of visionless career politicians alone."
