It was Professor Wole Soyinka who many years ago lamented that his generation have been wasted. I couldn't have agreed better, only I would like to add that his generation was a little bit luckier than our own generation - the post-Independence Nigerians.
Even Chinua Achebe affirmed it in his book, There Was A Country, that their generation were a bit luckier than this present generation, because when the British left after the independence many positions were left vacant waiting to be filled by Nigerians; and the system was well planned - which is the only thing we benefited from them. People where given scholarships, and public schools were modelled after the British public schools in England.

But as an evil empire, having seen the intelligence and resourcefulness of the South, Britain deliberately designed a fraudulently rigged system that will always benefit the North, and handed over power to them in other to continue their imperial subjugation and exploitation through indirect rule. Britain had seen an average Fulani man as being stupid, lacking in intelligence, and somewhat silly.
Then the Hausa/Fulani who are now the neo-colonialists continued with the even more brutal subjugation of its citizens than the former colonialists.
The evil is that Britain amalgamated the Nigeria, but the GREATEST EVIL is that this same Britain have continued to insist that Nigeria would remain together even after 57 years of her Independence and 100 years of amalgamation without any meaningful development, while most of its former colonies in Asia have all disintegrated and gone their separate ways.

One of the greatest evils bequeathed in our system by these Dan Fodio's descendants is the introduction of the 'quota system' policy in our polity. This is done because they cannot compete favourably with their southern counterparts. In the western world, one in three of every achievement done by a black man, is done by a Nigerian, and when you probe further you will realize he is a southerner. You can never hear of an Hausa/Fulani man breaking a record in technology, medical research, science or literature, its only in terrorism like the under wear bomber, Abdulmutallab. BokoHaram and Fulani herdsmen also have made record as the first and fourth most terrorist organizations in the world.
But when you come to Nigeria its only the Hausa/Fulani that will be heading all the vital sectors of the economy, calling the shots and enslaving others. They have entrench a wide spread nepotism and favouritism across the land and made Nigerians not to reach their desired potentials.

Speaking about the neglect of the talented ones, in 2000, an Enugu-born graduate student, Osita Onuma, made a record breaking feat at the Imperial College, University of London, by obtaining a cumulative grade point of 98.85 on a 100% scale. It was an unprecedented mark in the 124-year old of the university. The school announced him to the world; but it was only after the world's recognition of Onuma that Nigeria's government under Obasanjo wrote him a letter, urging him to call on him at Aso villa, whenever he's returning to Nigeria. But this same Onuma graduated two years earlier from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, with an even more record-breaking feat of 4.96 points on a 5.0 scale which when converted to percentage will be a 99.2%. But none of our government officials recognized him, not even a local government Chairman.
In 2008, Anthony Joshua, the 2017 world boxing heavyweight champion, made efforts to represent Nigeria at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, but he was turned down by the Nigerian boxing officials. Disapointed, the British-Nigerian went back to England to represent Britain, and won a gold that could have been a first for Nigeria at the Olympics. Ofcourse, the Nigerian officials must have nominated a 'quota system' boxer, or the 'highest bidder' boxer for the games, who in turn brought back nothing to the country.
In 2012, Rashidi Yekini, a foremost Nigerian striker and highest goalscorer, died in a pitiable and pathetic condition. Yekini was suspected to have suffered from bipolar disorder. He was seen twice answering the nature's call by the road side where he lived in Ibadan. But in all this, the Nigerian government whom he served for almost two decades of his life never cared to asked of nor take care of him. Even a house that was allegedly promised him by the government, after his major conquest in the 1994 Africa cup of nations which saw Nigeria coasting home with victory, was never given to him. But in Argentina, when the legendary football star, Diego Madonna, suffered from severe mental conditions as a result of his excessive intake of drugs, he was quickly rehabilitated by his country and given a couching job at their national team in the 2010 World Cup.
In August 2016, the Nigerian Dream Team VI to the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, were mired in financial crisis as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) refused to make enough financial provisions for them. But when a Japanese Surgeon, Katsuya Takasu, who read about their plight, gave the players a $390,000 cash gift to boost their morale, this same NFF tried to hijack the gift. It took an outcry from Nigerians before the NFF backed down.
Similarly, in December 2016, the Nigeria's senior women national team, the Super Falcons, had to protest at the entrance of the National Assembly for their unpaid bonuses and allowances to be paid them, having won the 2016 Africa Women's Cup of Nations.
No wonder a social commentator once lamented that his country has never done anything for him in life. He complained that he sponsored his own education, provided his own job, accommodation, health care bills, security, transportation system and even the basic social amenities like electricity, and drinkable water.
Apart from destroying peoples destines, the British contraption called Nigeria have no value for human lives. It's only a country where its sitting President will order its military to openly shoot unarmed citizens going on peaceful protests. Fulani herdsmen will massacre over 200 people, and the government will be going about their normal business as if nothing had happened. But the same government will found its voice to condemn an attack in far away Europe where only 3 people were killed.
Just last week, the Fulani controlled government again wasted the lives of over 50 people in their wild goose chase of looking for oil in the Chad Basin; an area within the Boko Haram enclave. Among them are university and NNPC staff. I wouldn't know who told them there is oil near Sambisa? Or are they trying to force it there? For God's sake they have been prospecting for oil in that region since the days of Tam David West as Oil minister under Buhari's military regime. David-West had advised them there was no oil there. No wonder they recently built a petroleum college in Borno state, may be in anticipation of a discovered oil well in Chad Basin? (Laughs).
The government just wasted its military officers for nothing. A social commentator after hearing the news said that any security official that died for the Nigerian state, just died for nothing. He said its even better to die for a worthless N5 note ($0.015) than to die for a government that have no value for human lives.
But I'm glad that Biafrans in the Nigeria security forces are now re-discovering themselves. An interesting scenario played out in Enugu months ago: As I was driving within the town I met a police roadblock. They stopped me and asked of my papers, but as I was reaching out to the pigeon hole to give it to them, one of them came closer, and with an Igbo accent, said, "Bros forget that thing, here na Biafra land...we no dey arrest people here. Me na Biafran, if you feel like doing something, just do it 'unto IPOB way'." Oh my God! I laughed hysterically, and because of his manner of approach, I did something 'unto IPOB way.' (Laughs).

Indeed every Biafran serving in any sector of the Nigeria government should have the consciousness of Biafra within him and never allow the British expired contraption to waste his life in the name of service to father land, as every life wasted for the Fulani is just wasted for nothing.
